DIY is all the rage these days. Thanks to no less than a dozen DIY shows on cable—not to mention thousands of DIY videos available online—doing your own home improvement or installation can look surprisingly simple. It can also bring about a sense of personal satisfaction.

But DIY isn't always all that it's cracked up to be. While some projects are straightforward, others are more complicated—and this includes smart homes. Making sure everything works together can be complex at best.

Luckily, you don't have to go at it alone. With professional installation from Vivint, Smart Home Pros will install everything in your home so you don't have to.

Why Vivint installation?

One of the key benefits of a Vivint system is professional installation. But what exactly does that mean for you?

It's included

Many people go the DIY route to save money. Unfortunately, this can backfire. If something goes wrong and you need to call in outside help, it can be even more costly to have them fix your DIY disaster.

This is particularly true when it comes to smart homes. Wiring, placement, syncing devices, and everything else that installation involves can get pretty complicated, and it's important that everything works together without a hitch. And with Vivint, professional installation is included in your smart home package.

Let’s be neighbors.

Everything works together

The biggest benefit of professional installation? You know it will actually work. When you DIY a system, chances are it will involve a lot of troubleshooting in the form of deep-diving instruction manuals, watching tutorials on YouTube, or spending hours on the phone with tech support.

Vivint Pros are literal professionals when it comes to smart home tech. Not only will they install everything, but they will make sure your smart home devices integrate together seamlessly.

That means when you tell your smart speaker to turn off the lights, or you arm your security system and lock your front doors from your Smart Hub, you know it will all work like it's supposed to.

Your smart home will be exactly what you want it to be

When your Smart Home Pro arrives, he or she will review each component of your smart home and make sure you have all the products you purchased.

Your Smart Home Pro will also provide valuable professional advice when it comes to products and placement. For example, maybe you’re not sure where to place your outdoor camera for optimal viewing, or you aren’t sure how many carbon dioxide detectors you really need.

Your Smart Home Pro will help advise you so your smart home is everything you wanted.

You’ll get the most out of your system

Each Vivint device comes with a wealth of features. Luckily, your Smart Home Pro knows each of the products inside and out. Before they leave, they'll make sure you not only know how to use your system, but how to take advantage of the various features and integrations available.

So whether you want to create room groups with your smart lighting or set your alarm system to arm automatically when you lock your front door, your Smart Home Pro will show you exactly how to do it.

Third party installation? What third party?

Have you ever made a large purchase, like a new appliance or service, and had to coordinate installation with a third party you knew nothing about? With Vivint, you'll never have to worry about that.

When you purchase your system, you'll also schedule your installation directly with us—no need to reach out to a third party or contractor to do it for you.

What to expect on installation day

Once you've designed your Smart Home system, you'll schedule your installation. Here's what you can expect on installation day:

Before arrival

Your Smart Home Pro will do an installation check to ensure all components of your smart home are present and accounted for. An hour or so before your install, they'll also text or call to let you know when you can expect them.

Pre-install

Once your Smart Home Pro arrives, they'll review your products with you, do a walkthrough of your home with you, and discuss product placement.

Install

The actual installation itself may take about three hours, depending on your smart home configuration. During this time, your Smart Home Pro will install your panel and devices and then run tests to make sure everything is in perfect working order.

Clean and train

After cleaning up, it's time for the fun part—learning all about your new system.

Your Smart Home Pro will show you how to operate your new system and answer any questions you may have. And if you happen to have any more after they leave, they're just a phone call away.
